oh you can use it for helping organizing yourlayers

Like you can bulk things like.. all yourlayers for the robot.
and all the layers for background.. etc

There's other ways to do it. You can do it with a mouse Honest.

Have you ever used the gradient tool? I still use even in this video.
Basically you use the lasso tool. Isolate your area. set your gradient to (whatever colour Opague) to 0 transparency.
then you can can start building it up the colours. Actually this method works great on robots!!!!

hmmm well thats a bit harder to do in photoshop with a mouse. you could try a mix of things to fake it.
Duplicate your final image. Throw a paint daubs a effects. Use masking to reveal or hide (more of the paint effects.. flatten and use smudge tool.
Thats the only way I can think of faking the effects.

@06:56Outstanding, Vince, although I don't really understand why you paint out the mask over the background. Do you ever use quick mask?

@06:56hmmm no reason particularly, just preference. usually if I paint the background and I don't have any idea. I'll paint it in... then after use "hue shift" to help decide the colour.
I just like to have something for me when I paint.

@06:56well depends what you can handle. For me... I'm a step by step person.
I like thinking Shape and form First. And then colour second. I can sometimes do it all at once. But I find doing black and white.. easier because I can just experiment with the colours more (you'll notice I'll do a hue shift a lot in my videos.. because I try things out).

Ah okay, I guessed that you were using hue shift, but I couldn't read it well, even in the youtube video oO
Well, I'll try to color that way one the next drawing I'll be coloring ^^

Thanks :p

but then again it happens pretty fast.

Well, yeah, I tried the HD button, but not the full screen, since the video enlarged by itself. I tried full screen just now and it's better ^^
And yeah, that's kinda fast, but I can keep up with the speed to press the pause button :p
